Nick + Madisen

September 15, 2023 - The Dunes Pavilion - Chesterton, Indiana

It was a cool sunny morning. Dappled light greeted me as I approached Madisen’s childhood home. The girls were bustling around with a calm ease in the air. The details were perfectly thought ought and I smiled while styling a one-of-a-kind ring adorned with a Tiffany box.

Friends and family filled the quiet while a mix of burgers, beers, fries and champagne were shared. As Madisen got into her dress her mother and sister were there to put the finishing touches and provide well wishes.

On the other side of town Nick was fully dressed and ready surrounded by friends, family, and a note written by his soon to be wife.

Madisen and Nick met in high school. Nick, being wheel chair bound while recovering from a moto cross injury, “wheeled” Madisen off her feet with his calm and kind demeanor. To say these two are easy going is an understatement. But their calm comes from the deepest kindness and gratitude they have for each other and the world. Their smiles fill each room and space with love and laughter, so naturally when Madisen said she wanted the ceremony to be the first time Nick saw her I knew the moment would be special. Their vows were exchanged and marriage blessed at St. Patrick Church in Chesterton.

These two now call California home, so the Pavilion at the Indiana Dunes State Park was the perfect backdrop. September beach days are still warm, but the crowds have left leaving open space for Nick and Madisen to soak up the landscape while I captured the most gorgeous portraits.

Cocktails and appetizers were enjoyed by guests while watching the sun dip into the water. Sounds and lights from 27 Entertainment echoed the industrial interior as the couple cut a pink cherry adorned cake with a topper featuring their fur baby. The Pavilion’s brick interior with half moon windows overlooked the twilight sky as Nick and Madisen, surrounded by their family and friends danced the night away.
